"Shopping?" Daisuke blinked as his grandfather looked through his mother's purse, hunting down the money she had promised her son. "That's right! She was going to go out clothes shopping for you but she hasn't been feeling well all day.... So you get to do it!" "Really?" Daisuke brightened slightly. He of course loved his mother to pieces, but he had always found her choices in clothing for him eccentric at best and just plain tacky at worst. Dark tended to like her 'costumes' but his taste was also... bizarre... Speaking of which.... / Oi, Dark? / < Z z z z.... lemme 'lone, it's not even noon yet.... z z z z.... > / .... ^_______^ / Daisuke's grandfather nodded before letting out a small noise of triumphant, pulling the crinkled money along with a few coins from the purse. "That's right! Don't spend it all in one place now! Ha ha ha!" The red head gave a slight smile and nod, counting through the money before heading outside. / Enough to buy a few new shirts and maybe a pair of pants..... / Changing into the much taller and lankier Dark had put a little strain on some of his older and closer fitting pieces of clothing. He had even ripped a sleeve the other day and then-- < Nn? Where we goin'? > / Nowhere, go back to sleep. / < Yeah right.... Shopping? ^_^ > / Gaaah! How'd you know?! / < You have actually money on you. > Daisuke sighed, wandering down the street and towards the main cluster of stores a block or two away. / Just don't interfere, alright? / < Hai hai.... > It was a nice day out, if a bit brisk, Daisuke decided. Fall hadn't quite settled in yet and while leaves were beginning to change colors, the weather was still humming with left over warmth from the summer months. Daisuke rather missed summer already. Summer and spring had always been his favorite seasons, if simply for the bright colors of the ground and sky. More recently, they had taken up an even greater importance for it gave him a chance to get out of the house and run errands instead of being shut up inside his room all day talking to-- < Are we there yet? > Another sigh. / No, not yet. / .... < Yet? > / No. / .... < Yet? > / No. / .... < Yet? > / No!! Are you doing this just to annoy me or what?! / < Hey it's boring just sitting up here all day and wow look at the legs on that girl.... > / Oi! Stop checking out people while in my head! / < Where else am I suppose to? Baka. > / I don't know! Just.... go back to sleep or something! / < .... z z z z z...... > / How can he sleep like that? / Daisuke shook his head and stepped around a small group of children who ran past him, a few of them rambling on excitedly about how they had seen 'the famous kaitou Dark Mousy!!' on TV last night. As a few of the young girls began to gush about how cool and handsome he was, Daisuke shook his head again and smiled to himself. / If only you knew.... / Still, he could sympathize with Dark's sleepiness more than usual. Last night's work had been tough--he wasn't sure how, but the number of guards had _doubled_ from the last job and Hiwatari-kun had been.... well, scary. He had managed to actually get a hold of Dark for a few moments and had almost handcuffed him before With had swooped in to distract him. The thief had cursed the blue haired boy all the way home for managing to stall him like that. / Hiwatari-kun..../ Daisuke wasn't afraid of the seemingly cold boy and while Dark was wary of him, he wasn't exactly trembling in his boots. The only thing that worried Daisuke now was if Satoshi ever did catch Dark--what would happen? What would happen to him, Daisuke? And what would happen to Dark? Would the police even be able to keep the phantom thief locked up? Or did Hitwatari-kun have something special in mind? What was he-- < Nng. You talk too much. > / Oh, sorry.... / < We there YET? > / No, we're n-- .... Yes, we're here. / < 'bout time.... z z z z... > / Hey, your legs are a lot longer than mine you know.... / Daisuke pushed open the door and stepped inside the clothing store, immediately shying away from the salesman to go and look quietly at the rows of shirts near the back. / This one is kind of nice.... cheap too.... / < Buy a bunch of black clothing. > / Why aren't you asleep?! And why should I buy a bunch of black? / < It'll look good! > / No, YOU look good in black. / < Exactly! Gotta be prepared! Which reminds me, you need to buy longer pants too. > / Geh.... / < I could also use a new sweater. It's starting to get a little chilly now. > / Fine, you get a sweater. I don't have enough money for anything else! / < Cheapskate. > / It's true! Besides, mom makes almost all of your clothes, you don't need me to shop for you! / < Mm, good point.... > / Hmph. / < Oh! Oh, get me that one! > / This one? / < No no, the one next to it! > / Oh, this big purple one? It's soft.... / < Yeah, check out that color! It'll really bring out my eyes, don't you think? > / Egomaniac.... / < If you've got it-- > / Flaunt it. Geez, I can't believe you sometimes! But alright, I'll get you this. / < Yatta! .... And now.... back to my nap! > / You.... / Taking the sweater and a few of the shirts that caught his eye, Daisuke turned to head to the check-out counter. "Mph...." "Wai!! I... Itai...." Blinking back slight tears from the stinging sensation now present in his backside, Daisuke glanced up, stuttering out an apology to the person he had just run into. "I'm really sorry!! I wasn't watching where.... I was.... going...." < KYAAAA!!! It's that creepy bastard again!! .... Hiiiii creepy bastard! *heart* > "Hi... Hiwatari-kun?" "Are you alright, Niwa-kun?" Satoshi Hiwatari adjusted his glasses slightly before bending down, picking up the scattered clothing around his surprised classmate. Daisuke nodded dumbly, watching the other boy and accepting the now neatly folded small stack of clothing back. "Uh.... uh.... a-arigatou...." Satoshi nodded, pulling Daisuke up with him as he stood. He looked at Daisuke for a long moment, who was still red from the embarrassment of literally running into his friend, before glancing down and placing a pale hand on the purple sweater on top of the pile. "This is a little big for you." < Hey! Get your hands off of that! It's mine! > "Oh, it isn't for me!" < .... baka. > The other boy tilted his head to the side a bit, a glint of interest suddenly noticeable behind his lenses. "Oh? Who's it for then?" "Uh.... well, that is.... er.... uh.... ah ha ha.... it's uh....." Satoshi's lips curved upwards ever so slightly. "I see. Tell him hello for me." < .... > Daisuke blinked a few times, unsure if he heard correctly, before flashing the other a warm smile. "Hai, I will!" Satoshi nodded in silent response and turned, hands in pockets, wandering casually out of the store. / Did he even buy anything....? / < I'll bet he's stalking you.... or me.... Or the both of us. Creepy, creepy.... > / Don't say weird things like that! / --- "Mmnn...." Daisuke mumbled to himself softly in his sleep, covers drawn up and tucked up just under his chin. All in all a perfect picture of cuteness, Dark mused to himself, watching the sleeping boy idly. He brushed his fingers lightly over the other's forehead, watching them slide shapelessly through the soft red strands. < Ahh, the joys of not having your own body, > he thought with a soundless sigh. He watched Daisuke slumber for another moment before stepping over to the closet and literally sticking his head in. < Geez, he has bland taste in clothing.... > He shook his head with another sigh, running his gaze over the seemingly endless school uniforms and plain shirts with jeans before finding the solitary dark spot. < Ah-ha! > He fingered the plush fabric, despite not being able to feel it at all, smiling contentedly. < I don't think.... anyone.... has ever bought me something before. Made me things like costumes, sure. But those usually get thrown out when I'm gone or done with a heist.... no one actually _got_ me something.... > < .... Arigatou, Daisuke-chan. > --- sabine says : I need more sleep. Could be worse... could be another narrative.
